Getting Started
Do I need to create an account?
No account needed. Just open the site on your phone and tap Start Free Inspection. Everything runs in your browser — nothing to download or sign up for.
What's the difference between the free and paid inspection?
The free inspection gives you the full guided checklist, VIN lookup, and the ability to skip and add notes. The Curb Check Pass ($4.99) unlocks AI analysis, repair cost estimates, negotiation talking points, a condition score, and a printable PDF report.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes — Curb Check is built for mobile. Open it in any browser on your phone (Chrome, Safari, Edge). No app install required.
Payments & Access
I paid but lost access — what do I do?
Access is stored in your browser. If you cleared your browser data, switched devices, or used a private/incognito window, your pass won't carry over. Contact us with your payment confirmation and we'll restore your access manually.
Can I use my pass on multiple vehicles or devices?
The Curb Check Pass unlocks one full inspection session in your browser. For unlimited inspections across all devices, upgrade to Curb Check+ ($9.99/month).
How do I cancel my Curb Check+ subscription?
Log in to the Stripe customer portal using the email you used at checkout, or contact us and we'll cancel it for you. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.
Can I get a refund?
Due to the digital nature of the product, all sales are generally final. However if you experienced a technical issue that prevented you from completing your inspection, contact us and we'll make it right.
Using the Checklist
What does the Skip button do?
If you can't access or see a particular item — underneath the car, behind a panel, etc. — just tap Skip. It removes that item from your score without penalizing you. Only rate what you can actually see.
How do I add notes or photos to a checklist item?
Tap the notepad icon on any checklist item to open a note and photo attachment for that item. This is great for capturing something suspicious you want to remember or show a mechanic later.
Can I save my inspection and come back to it?
Your inspection is saved automatically in your browser as you go. As long as you don't close the tab or clear your browser data, it will be there when you return.
How do I scan a VIN?
On the checklist page, tap the camera icon next to the VIN field and take a photo of the VIN plate. The app will read it automatically and pull up recall and decode information.
AI Features
The AI analysis isn't loading — what's wrong?
The AI requires an internet connection and can occasionally time out. Try refreshing and submitting again. If it continues to fail, let us know.
How accurate are the repair cost estimates?
AI estimates are based on general data and are meant as a starting point for negotiation — not a precise quote. Actual costs vary by location, shop, and vehicle condition. Always get a real estimate from a mechanic before making a final decision.
What is the Quick Vehicle Question feature?
It's a free AI tool on the homepage. Describe something you see on a vehicle (or upload a photo) and get an instant plain-English explanation of what it likely is, repair cost range, and how much to negotiate off the price.
